The project aims to provide additional capacity to the existing road network in Metro Manila to improve traffic flow on major thoroughfares, while at the same time creating new transport routes, giving more travel options to commuters and generally improving access to and from Metro Manila.

TIMOR LESTE ROAD NETWORK UPGRADING PROJECT http://kei-globe.com/nam-libero-tempore-cum-soluta-nobis-est/ http://kei-globe.com/nam-libero-tempore-cum-soluta-nobis-est/#comments Thu, 15 Aug 2013 08:01:44 +0000 http://localhost/?p=25 Timor Leste: PREPARATION OF DESIGNS AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF TIMOR LESTE ROAD NETWORK UPGRADING PROJECT

The project construction implementation component includes the improvement and upgrading of priority national roads, namely; …1) Dili-Tibar-Liquica (DL-29km) and ….2) Tibar-Gleno (TG-32 km). The two project roads are located in the western half of the country and within the three districts of Dili, Liquica and Ermera. The two project roads will be upgraded to include strengthening and widening of the existing pavement to 6 meters by asphalt surfacing and provision of road facilities in international standards. Vulnerability to damage from the effect of climate change will be addressed through appropriate engineering countermeasures and interventions. Likewise, the project must conform to all applicable ADB policies in respect to anticorruption measures, safeguards, gender, procurement, consulting services and disbursement as indicated in the PAM and loan documents.

The other component of the project includes the feasibility and detailed design of the Manatuto-Laclubar-Natarbora road section as identified in the Strategic Development Plan (2011-2013). The existing 81 kilometers road will be traversing from flat to rolling terrain in the north and passing the mountainous spine of the country towards the coastal plain in the south. The study and detailed design will also include the 10 kilometers road section from Laclubar junction to Laclubar.

Skyway Stage 3 http://kei-globe.com/project-4-sample/ http://kei-globe.com/project-4-sample/#comments Thu, 15 Aug 2013 07:08:52 +0000 http://localhost/?p=17 The project entails the construction of a 14.82-kilometer, mostly 6-lane elevated expressway, extending the present Skyway from Buendia in Makati all the way to Balintawak in Quezon City. Construction will begin in April 2014 and will take 36 months to complete.
It will be carried out in four (4) components: the Buendia-Plaza Dilao segment will be constructed from April 2014 to April 2016; the Plaza Dilao-Aurora Boulevard stretch will run from April 2014 to April 2017; the Aurora Boulevard-Quezon Avenue section will be constructed from April 2014 to April 2016; and the Quezon Avenue-Balintawak segment will be from April 2014 to December 2016.

Based on a recent study by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), P 2.4-Billion is lost everyday due to Metro Manila traffic. This project is intended to decongest traffic along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Quezon Avenue, Araneta Avenue, Nagtahan, and other major thoroughfares by about 55,000 vehicles daily. It will reduce travel time from Buendia to Balintawak by almost two (2) hours to twenty (20) minutes.
The DOTC is also pursuing other projects which will ease the capital region’s traffic situation, including the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road of the Metro Pacific group, and the Integrated Transport System (ITS) terminals.

The ITS terminals will centralize the passenger exchange between provincial buses and in-city modes of transport such as the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) systems, taxis, and city buses, at the edges of Metro Manila. The DOTC is currently bidding out the Southwest Terminal Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project along Coastal Road in Parañaque, which will ease congestion coming from Cavite and provide better convenience and efficiency in travel.

Mombasa Southern bypass Road http://kei-globe.com/sample-project-3/ http://kei-globe.com/sample-project-3/#comments Thu, 15 Aug 2013 07:08:01 +0000 http://localhost/?p=14 Mombasa is the main seaport on Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast and serves Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, eastern Democratic Republic Congo, Rwanda and Northern Tanzania. Economic development in the area served by Mombasa Port has generated rapid increase in the need for port services, which resulted in a major initiative to construct a new Kipevu Container Terminal with development cooperation from JICA. However, the road access to the Kipevu area is currently insufficient capacity and the Government has decided to prioritize construction of a new high capacity road link to connect the new Kipevu Container Terminal to the national highway network. This new road link to the expanded Kipevu Container Terminal will be part of the Mombasa Port Area Development Project.

Mombasa is an island and currently lacks a road between the island and the mainland to the south. Vehicle movement between Mombasa Island and the south coast is through the use of ferry services or alternatively a lengthy gravel road. The construction of the road will be a part of the proposed Mombasa Port Area Development Project.
Feasibility study with environmental and social impact assessment and preliminary and detailed engineering design of Mombasa Bypass including the new container terminal link road has started in 2008 with assistance of the World Bank. In 2011, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) conducted the Preparatory Survey on Mombasa City Road Development Project to facilitate formation of the project to be implemented under the Japanese ODA loan. The survey reviewed the F/S report.

The project is split into the following three (3) packages:
• Package 1 : Maritini Jct. to Mwache Jct. and Kipevu Link Road (9.5 km)
• Package 2 : Mwache Jct. to Mteza (including Mteza Bridge) (8.4km(
Package 3 : Mteza (excluding Mteza Bridge) to Kibundani Jct. (7.8km)

ROAD REHABILITATION WORKS OF THE DILI-AINARO ROAD (PHASE II & III) http://kei-globe.com/project-1-sample/ http://kei-globe.com/project-1-sample/#comments Thu, 15 Aug 2013 06:56:20 +0000 http://localhost/?p=8 Timor Leste: PREPARATION OF DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF ROAD REHABILITATION WORKS OF THE DILI-AINARO ROAD (PHASE II & III)

The World Bank-financed project (the Timor Leste Road Climate Resilience Project – TLRCRP) will support the ADB and JICA investments from the core network development program by investing in the 110 km north-south corridor: Dili – Ainaro. This corridor serves as a key cross country link between the north and the south of the country and connects three districts—Dili, Aileu and Ainaro—which jointly account for about 32 percent of country’s population.
The objective of the project is to reduce the impact of the high volume and intensity of rainfall on the road corridor south from Dili to Ainaro. The physical works will include: (i) construction or reinforcement of slope stabilization structures; (ii) improvement of drainage structures to meet forecasted rainfall volumes and intensities; and, (iii) pavement reconstruction with selective widening
The Dili-Ainaro corridor works will be done in the following phases:

• Phase I: Urgent Road Infrastructure Repairs. The objective of this phase is to repair severely damaged road and drainage structures along the entire Dili-Ainaro corridor to prevent the failure or further rapid deterioration of the asset.

• Phase II: Road Improvements. This will rehabilitate/reconstruct an initial section of about 15-20km section of the Dili-Ainaro road (Lot 1), with accompanying improvements to drainage and other environmental protection, including routine maintenance of the entire road (110km) during the 2-year defects liability period.

• Phase III: Road Improvements. This will rehabilitate /reconstruct the remaining length of the Dili –Ainaro road in four lots (Lots 2, 3, 4, and 5) of about 20-25km each.
